Required Qualifications (The Essentials)

This role demands a leader with proven technical mastery. You must possess:

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) License
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 8+ years of relevant experience in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering
• Deep familiarity with soil mechanics, deep foundation design, and general residential/commercial construction.

• Proven Leadership: A track record of recruiting, leading, and inspiring high-performing engineering or technical teams.
• Technical Mastery: Expertise in product development, steel, and concrete, with proficiency in modeling software (AutoCAD, Inventor).
• Exceptional Communication: The ability to solve complex problems and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Presentation & Training Skills: Confidence in delivering high-impact presentations and training sessions to customers, engineers, and internal teams.
• Relationship Building: A genuine talent for cultivating strong, collaborative connections with your team, customers, and external partners.
• Willingness to travel occasionally across the U.S. and Canada.

Your Mandate for Impact

As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for:

• Leading & Developing Teams: Recruit, train, and manage top engineering talent. You will cast the vision, drive accountability, and create growth opportunities to develop and retain a world-class team.
• Driving Product Innovation: Collaborate across the organization to research, evaluate, and innovate new product offerings while optimizing the existing product line. You will oversee all product testing and the development of supporting documentation.
• Empowering Through Expertise: Serve as the chief technical expert, consulting with customers on complex applications, creating technical resources, and delivering training to educate your team, customers, and industry specifiers.
• Guiding Commercial Success: Develop the vision and strategy for commercial sales, build genuine relationships with key customers, and ensure your department meets or exceeds its annual revenue budget and KPIs.
