Job Description

Cardella Construction Company is seeking a forward-thinking, hands-on, and highly motivated Director of Innovation & Technology to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead the technology function for a construction company that values innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.

This role will serve as Cardella Construction’s first dedicated IT hire, responsible for setting the technology vision while also supporting the day-to-day IT needs of our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about construction technology, fluent in Procore, curious about AI and emerging tools, and comfortable rolling up their sleeves to support both field and office teams.

What you’ll be up to:

• Lead and evolve Cardella Construction’s IT and technology strategy in alignment with business goals
• Serve as the internal expert for Procore and all other construction technology platforms, including Microsoft Office and Sage Intacct
• Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative solutions, including AI-driven tools and automation
• Attend construction technology trade shows, conferences, and vendor demonstrations
• Support field and office teams with technology solutions that improve efficiency and collaboration
• Provide hands-on IT support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and access issues
• Set up computers, devices, and software for new hires and role changes
• Manage IT asset inventory, including purchasing, tracking, and disposal of equipment
• Establish IT standards, policies, and cybersecurity best practices
• Work with department leads to spearhead innovation through the use of technology
• Partner with leadership to plan for the future growth of the IT function, with the opportunity to build a team

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of progressive IT experience, preferably within construction or a related industry
• Strong working knowledge of Procore and construction technology ecosystems
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Sage Intacct is a plus
• Experience evaluating and implementing new technologies, including AI tools
• Comfortable working in a hands-on role while also setting long-term strategy
• Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
