Tower Electric is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator who is eager to be part of a growing electrical contractor and expand their career into the electrical trade. This role is ideal for someone experienced in operating excavation equipment who also has a strong interest in becoming an electrician and growing long-term with our team.

Position Overview

This position supports our underground and site electrical work by operating excavation equipment while also assisting with electrical installations. You’ll work closely with our field teams on a wide range of commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavation equipment including:
• Backhoes
• Mini excavators
• Skid steers
• Perform trenching, backfill, grading, and site preparation for underground electrical work
• Assist electrical crews with underground conduit, duct banks, and related installations
• Follow project plans, markings, and safety requirements
• Maintain equipment and report any maintenance needs
• Support jobsite organization and productivity
• Learn and grow within the electrical trade through hands-on field experience

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating excavation equipment (backhoe, mini-ex, skid steer)
• Strong commitment to safety and jobsite awareness
• Interest in becoming an electrician or expanding electrical knowledge
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong work ethic, teamwork mindset, and willingness to learn

Electrical experience is a plus, but not required — we are willing to train the right candidate.
