Job Description

We are looking for an experienced security professional to guard our luxury Boston boutiques. The purpose of this job is to safeguard Long’s property, employees and customers by maintaining a high visibility presence while providing exceptional customer service and assistance to both employees and customers on location. This role is responsible for preventing loss and damage by alerting management of irregularities and by promoting consistent practice of Long’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Greet and provide assistance to employees and visitors as they enter the building.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Alert store team and management of any suspicious behavior.
• Notify first responders (police, fire and rescue) in case of emergency or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate requirements.
• Monitor in-store procedures during set-up and closing, in addition to ensuring that all security and safety procedures are followed throughout the day.
• Accompany and monitor outside contractors, such as cleaners, electricians, construction, etc, when they are on-site for work as needed.
• Work with Director of Security on projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:

• 2+ years prior security related experience; Prior law enforcement, military experience preferred.
• Degree or continuing education in the Criminal Justice field a plus.
• First Aid, CPR, or EMT certification a plus.
• Ability to diffuse and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
• Consistently display a professional and positive attitude, with the ability to interact cordially and communicate well with others.
• Self-motivated and excellent work ethic.
• Must be highly attentive to detail with the ability to adapt to evolving situations.
• Enjoys and takes pride in working for/with a team.
• Must be able to stand and walk for the majority of an 8 – 9 hours work shift.
• Must be able to work weekend days (mostly Saturday) and very occasionally weekend evenings based on the needs of the business.
