Job Description

Job Title: Senior Superintendent – cGMP / Aviation Construction

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee field operations on large-scale cGMP or Aviation construction projects across the Bay Area. The ideal candidate has a proven track record managing complex, high-precision environments such as life science laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, or airport infrastructure. This role requires exceptional leadership, field coordination, and technical expertise to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all on-site construction activities for cGMP or Aviation projects from preconstruction through project closeout
  • Supervise field staff, subcontractors, and trades to ensure adherence to design, schedule, and safety requirements
  • Manage site logistics, scheduling, inspections, and daily reporting
  • Oversee compliance with FAA, TSA, or FDA/cGMP construction standards as applicable
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and QA/QC teams to resolve field issues
  • Implement safety and quality programs, including cleanroom construction protocols where required
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and inspectors
  • Ensure field documentation, daily logs, and progress reports are accurate and up to date
  • Drive continuous improvement, mentorship, and professional standards on-site

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of construction experience with at least 7 years as a Superintendent on large-scale commercial or technical projects
  • Direct experience with cGMP (pharma, biotech, or life sciences) or aviation (airside/groundside) construction required
  • Strong understanding of technical building systems, MEP coordination, and cleanroom or hangar requirements
  • Proven success managing projects exceeding $50M–$200M+
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera)
  • OSHA 30 certification required; ICRA or specialized cleanroom training a plus
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
