Job Title: Test Technician

Type of Role: Contract to hire

Pay Range: $22-$25/hr

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Technician to join our client’s team in Troy, MN. In this role, you will operate press brake machines to bend, shape, and form sheet metal or other materials according to engineering drawings and specifications. This position plays a critical role in achieving production goals and maintaining high-quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Prepare and set up press brake machines, including loading tooling, dies, and materials.
• Operate press brake machines to bend or form materials per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Position and align sheet metal for precise bending operations.
• Inspect bent components for dimensional accuracy using calipers and gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance on press brake tooling and replace as needed.
• Troubleshoot minor issues during the bending process.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
• Monitor production workflow and maintain accurate documentation in Epicor (production reports, tally sheets, scrap reports).
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to meet production targets.
• Read and interpret SolidWorks engineering drawings and SOPs.
• Maintain and operate necessary hand tools for setup and operation.
• Seek opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic Qualifications 2+ years of experience in machine operation or mechanical aptitude.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or general knowledge of metalworking, bending, and tooling.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives in English.

Additional Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical secondary education preferred.
• Previous brake press operation experience preferred.
• Ability to perform simple mathematics for process sheets and material tracking.
• Frequent lifting, standing, bending, and reaching required.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Must adhere to PPE requirements (eye, hand, feet, and hearing protection).
