The organization is lean, financially disciplined, and expanding its geographic footprint with a second office opening. Ownership is highly engaged and seeking a senior leader who can take ownership of day-to-day construction operations.

  • Commercial office interiors, typical project sizes between $2M - $8M
  • Specialized industrial environments including labs, clean rooms, food/pharma, and premium manufacturing
  • Active pursuits in the $10M–$12M+ range

Position Overview

The Vice President of Construction will lead construction operations across all active projects, serving as the primary bridge between field teams, clients, and executive leadership.

This role is primarily office-based with the expectation of strong field credibility. The VP will be responsible for driving execution, communication, and consistency as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior oversight of construction operations and project execution
  • Serve as the primary point of alignment between field teams, clients, and ownership
  • Lead client communication and ensure proactive updates throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee change orders, schedules, cost control, and documentation
  • Drive consistency and visibility through Procore and related systems
  • Step in on operational decisions when projects require additional support
  • Mentor and develop project managers and superintendents
  • Help build the operational framework required to support growth to $50M+

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with progressive leadership responsibility
  • Prior leadership roles such as Director of Construction, Operations Manager, Project Executive
  • Proven ability to lead multiple project teams and manage portfolio-level execution
  • Experience delivering $2M–$6M+ commercial projects, preferably negotiated work
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction delivery methods and contracts
  • Track record of building, mentoring, and holding teams accountable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Comfortable operating at both the executive level and with field leadership

Compensation & Growth Opportunity

  • Base compensation up to $225,000, depending on experience
